The battery that powers the system has been designed to last more than enough for a full days teaching.

The battery is powered directly from the included solar panel, in optimal conditions the battery will take approximately 5 hours to charge.

PLA plastic or (Polylacticacid) is a type of plastic that is made from natural materials such as corn starch.

3D printing technology is a type of manufacturing process that builds up a 3D object layer by layer.

Traditional manufacturing techniques  use subtractive manufacturing which means they start with a block of material and remove what they don’t need. Additive manufacturing, known as 3D Printing is exactly the opposite, starting with nothing and building up an object layer by layer. Each layer is slightly different from the last, stacking many layers allows the printer to make 3D objects such as Pod.

It costs £3000 for a complete package, which includes a solar panel, battery pack, power cables, peripherals, projector screen, software, compact projector and keyboard and mouse.

We have many different options available that would allow you to contribute to our #DonateToEducate movement.

At the moment the Kit has been designed solely for emerging markets, for now we’re only allowing the Kit to be sold through donations and through partnerships, but who knows what the future holds!

The Kit is powered directly by the sun, which makes it incredibly sustainable as no mains electricity is required.

Additionally the PLA we use in the 3D Printing is sourced from plants and crops, the PLA we use is also made from 77% post industrial waste, reducing the need for virgin PLA plastic to be made.

We use 3D printing technology to prototype and test. One major benefit of 3D printing is that it generates no waste, we only use the exact amount of material we need.

Offline Software

Our bespoke learning software platform which is designed to give teachers and students all over the world access to current, relevant and appropriate learning materials is designed for learning in challenging environments. Designed to empower tomorrow’s changemakers – without internet.

Every deployment has locally appropriate, culture and curriculum relevant content to ensure maximum efficacy.  Offering materials on all mainstream academic subjects including STEAM subjects. We continue to work with our educational content partners to ensure the content available on each Global Teacher Kit is fit-for-purpose.

The beauty of the Classroom-in-a-Box™ is that it can be adapted to the context in which they’re used. The USB Drive and Micro SD card slot built into the system means digital content can be plugged into the back of The Brains. Meanwhile, we’re always looking to expand the range of content available and there are plans on the horizon to plug in life skills and health and wellbeing content which would be suitable for all ages.

Donations

Every donation we receive goes straight towards getting a Kit to a marginalised student in need. Our driving ethos is that increasing access to education is the key to unlocking the potential of the next generation of changemakers and visionaries and every penny we receive goes towards helping us achieve that future.

Every donation we receive goes directly towards getting Kits to a marginalised student somewhere in the developing world. We work with a number of charity partners on the ground in areas of need, predominantly in Ukraine, Africa and soon Brazil to identify the communities where we will have the most impact and work to distribute units in that area.

We have many different ways in which you can donate. You can fundraise for us, donate money, become a partner or volunteer.

We have made it easy for you to select the best option for you on our donate page with a variety of options available from small to large donations and subscriptions.

We’re always on the lookout for new content to showcase. If you have something you’d like to share with us, get in touch!

If you’d like to volunteer your time and expertise, or you’d simply like to know a bit more, don’t hesitate to get in touch here!

As a registered charity, it is vital that we track the impact of all our work and we are committed to sharing that information with everyone who donates to our mission. Updates will regularly be posted on our website, blog and social media. We’re open to receiving feedback on this area so please reach out if you have any ideas on how we can showcase impact to our supporters.
