One Million More
Dreamers.
Visionaries.
Innovators.
At Global Teacher we believe that access to good quality education is the catalyst to equip the dreamers, visionaries and problem solvers of tomorrow to change the world. Our immediate mission is to educate one million marginalised students across the globe through our unique off-grid and off-net education platform, Pod & Lumi.
Barriers To Education
There are many reasons why people do not get the quality education they deserve. Most donated education content is offered in the form of physical textbooks that are sometimes out of date or culturally inappropriate. Books are heavy and costly to ship. Delivery can take 6 months in transit. There is a better way – the Global Teacher way.
Degradation
In warmer climates, physical books degrade much more quickly than they do in the UK, especially when being passed around and shared between several students and classes. The Pod system is specially designed with these kinds of challenging classroom environments in mind. Made from planet friendly PLA, Pod is designed to stand the test of time and empower students for years to come.
Time
Transporting textbooks across the globe is primarily done by containership, with resources often taking several months to reach their final destination. What’s more, when they finally do arrive, teachers then have to devote time to lesson planning based on the contents of the textbook. Pod and Lumi drastically reduce the time taken to get educational resources to the areas that need it most with its light, air-travel friendly design. While Lumi’s plugin and go functionality makes lesson planning a breeze for teachers.
Supply
The distribution of textbooks to the developing world relies on a huge global supply chain of donation, transportation and distribution. Pod and Lumi are agile by design and the priority is always to get our educational resources to areas of need as quickly as possible. By keeping “eyes to the front,” our projector system can educate an entire class of students with just one piece of hardware, giving students access to world-leading educational content at the touch of a button.
Donating Digitally
Ease
Donating digital content opens up a new world of opportunity for those who need it most. Supplied on an SD card, digital content takes up a fraction of the physical space that textbooks do, and can be delivered really quickly.
Sustainability
In shipping and local use, books are subject to conditions that critically affect their lifespan. By comparison, SD Cards are not affected by the common temperature or humidity challenged that our mission entails. SD card based content simply lasts longer and entails a much lower carbon footprint when considering the materials and logistics.
The Right Content
Digital lessons can be updated and fine-tuned to cater for cultural needs. Books do not have the same flexibility. Content can be adjusted based on teacher and student feedback. Curricula can evolve with confidence driven by the local needs.

Design is about solving problems and making the human condition better. The Global Teacher program is a partnership among companies that believe access to education is inequitable, which can make it difficult for students to thrive and achieve their full potential. By working together, we can help to change the future for kids in underserved communities globally.
Access to education has direct impact on the future leaders of our world. By partnering with Global Teacher, we hope to promote equity, access and opportunity for students in underserved environments, so they all have a greater chance to learn and flourish in and out of school
